Introduction to FMEA
Risk is
everywhere. It does not matter where we are or what we do. It affects us on a
personal level, but it also affects us in our world of commerce and our
business. Successful
development of an FMEA requires that the analyst include all significant
failure modes for each contributing element or part in the system.
This
indispensable workshop is for everyone who wants some fast information
regarding failures and how to deal with them. This course presents an overview
of the Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) approach to calculate risk and
proactively avoid potential failures in a process or service. Participants
learn about its methodical approach, how to assemble a team and FMEA tools.
Failure Modes and Effects Analysis
(FMEA) is a systematic, proactive method for evaluating a process to identify
where and how it might fail and to assess the relative impact of different
failures, in order to identify the parts of the process that are most in need
of change.
Program goals:
Rework is expensive and has the
potential to adversely impact Customer goodwill. The challenge is to design in
quality and reliability at the beginning of the process and ensure that defects
never arise in the first place. A sound understanding of FMEA is critical when
assessing risk
